01

Download the .amxd

Grab !! Web Launcher.amxd using the button at the top of the page.

02

Drop it in your User Library

Place it under your Ableton User Library at:

Win%USERPROFILE%\Documents\Ableton\User Library\Presets\Audio Effects\Max Audio Effect\ Mac~/Music/Ableton/User Library/Presets/Audio Effects/Max Audio Effect/
03

Drag onto any track

Open Live's browser, find !! Web Launcher under Max Audio Effect, drag onto any audio track. Click an Open button to launch.

// things to know

It's a Max device, so.

// 01

Click Open to save your URL.

Typing a URL in a slot doesn't auto-save — clicking that slot's Open button (or the Lock toggle) is what commits it to ~/.web-launcher-config.json. Max's textedits don't fire a reliable commit on Enter; this is the design.

// 02

Use Lock once your URLs are set.

Flipping Lock disables further textedit edits and saves state. Prevents accidental edits during a mixing session.

// 03

First click takes ~2 seconds.

Node-for-Max needs a moment to start when you load a new instance. After that first click, every subsequent click is instant.

// 04

Falls back to default browser without Chrome.

Chrome or Edge gives you the floating-window experience (--app= mode). Without either, URLs open in your system default browser as a regular tab.
